Imagine a fresh breeze on the Isle of Capri... winds carrying scents of perfumed wood, aromatic herbs, flowers and fruits roughened by the salty air. And then they emerge: the sharp notes of bay and myrrh, of mandarin and bergamot combined with dense patchouli and cedar, masterfully balanced by a solid base of sage. These are just a hint of the sensations bursting forth from Carthusia's Corallium, created from the sea, this is a fragrance of rare intensity. Made in Italy. 50ml

Top Notes: bergamot, myrrh, bay leaf, tangerine
Heart Notes: patchouli, cedarwood, fine wood
Base Notes: tree goldmoss stonecrop, sage, white musk

About Carthusia

Capri, the Italian island of dreams has been an enchanting oasis since Roman times. Its natural beauty, sunny climate and innate glamour are legendary. In 1380 the Father Prior of the Monastery of St. Giacomo made Queen Giovanna D’ Angio’ a flower arrangement with the most beautiful island flowers. The water was not changed for three days, and the Prior noticed that the water had acquired a beautiful fragrance. This became the first perfume of Capri. Forgotten and re-discovered in 1948, the Monastery with permission of the Pope, revealed the recipe to a chemist, who created the smallest fragrance laboratory in the world and called it ‘Carthusia’. Today the perfume tradition continues and limited production ensures the same methods used by the Carthusian monks are respected.
