Papier d'Armenie
The history of Papier d'Armenie starts in the 19th century when, on a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot noticed the local people scented and disinfected their homes by burning benzoin, a resin derived from the bark of trees. This traditional and ecologically-sound practice appealed and so he decided to import the product to France. Today, Papier d'Armenie's international reputation is assured thanks to its focus on quality ingredients and the engagement with renowned perfumer Francis Kurkidjan created the Original Papier d'Armenie - a scent based on the resinous notes of incense, myrrh and vanilla.
