The Laundress Recall

Dear valued Saison customer,

We trust you had a very happy festive season holiday. 

Please note that The Laundress have released an update advising that another in-depth review identified certain raw materials used exclusively in their fabric conditioners may contain an impurity (ethylene oxide) at a low level that nonetheless exceeds their internal company standards.

The fabric conditioners were included in the original recall list and have already been recalled. Nonetheless, with this being the case the company has decided to issue a full market withdrawal of the brand with the intention to re-launch The Laundress with products that reaffirm a commitment to the highest standards of consumer safety and quality.

If you have already made a claim for the original recalled items, please follow the same procedure for any other The Laundress items you may have on hand. This includes any accessories, bags, brushes, etc.

All refunds are being issued by Unilever (The Laundress) and not via retail stores which includes www.saison.com.au  

A dedicated help line has been set up for The Laundress recall which is 1800 061 027 (Monday to Friday between 7am to 4pm AEST) and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm AEST. Please ensure you have your product/s at hand as well as proof of purchase (receipt / tax invoice) which will be required to place your claim. If you no longer have the product, a claim may not be able to be validated.

We are pleased to advise that The Laundress have now finalised the refund procedure for consumers who have purchased products outlined on the affected products listing. The list of affected products in the Australian market can be found here.

Please note that this is a global recall, and as such all refunds are being issued by Unilever (The Laundress) and not via retail stores which includes www.saison.com.au.

Dear Laundress Community, 

Thank you for your patience as we continue to share updates on our safety notice which alerted you to the potential presence of elevated levels of bacteria in some of our products.   

We have been working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as expeditiously as possible to put the safety of our community above everything else. We understand the frustration you feel not having all the information, so it is important to update you as we know more.  

Our work with the CPSC is still in progress. However, in answer to your questions, we are sharing our most current list of impacted products (Click here for affected products in the Australian market). Out of an abundance of caution, we continue to ask that you stop using any The Laundress products until our review is complete.   

We deeply apologize for this situation. We are truly grateful for our entire Laundress Community and thank you for your understanding as we work our hardest to share updates with you.

Dear Laundress Community,

Your safety and the quality of our products is our top priority.

Out of an abundance of caution, yesterday we issued a Safety Notice to alert our community of the potential presence of elevated levels of bacteria in some of our products that present a safety concern.  In response to your questions, we have created an FAQ page which you can access on our website. We will continue to update this page as we have more information and will communicate through our email and social channels.
