Located in Mombercelli d’Asti, in the Piemonte region of Italy, the D.Barbero company is famous for the production of the artisanal crumbly torrone (nougat). Founded five generations ago in 1883 by Melchiorre Barbero who first gained permission to produce ‘Torroni e Noasetti’. The torrone Barbero produces has unique crumbly characteristics and continues to be made according to the original recipe. The torrone Barbero uses only fresh egg whites, the highest quality Piedmont nuts and the best “Millefiori” honey. The torrone is then steamed for about seven hours to give it the sought after texture and flavour. Today, the same family runs the business, guided by Davide and Giovanni. They still produce sweets with love and passion, using the same raw materials as in the past.
