Anis de Flavigny
Perched on a hilltop in Burgundy, Flavigny-sur-Ozerain is a lovely village 60km from Dijon and is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village is home to Anis de Flavigny - the famous candy company whose origins date back to Roman times.
In 719AD the Flavigny-sur-Ozerain Abbey was founded by Benedictine monks. During the French revolution the resident monks were forced to leave and in 1814 the Abbey was transformed into a sweets factory. To this day the Abbey factory remains at the heart of Anis de Flavigny's operations.
For 15 days deep inside the Abbey grounds, each green aniseed is patiently layered with liquid sugar, delicately blended with natural flavours. Each of the seven flavours are presented in their own distinctive oval tin depicting the love story of the shepherd and his maiden. Gift sets and 90g tubes are also now available.
